a double, double,
that’s what they say; rushed and ready
for another day
”yes sir, it’s on the way”
two squirts of cream and two spoons of
sugar go down in the steaming hot cup
of caffeine
some come in upset, some come in
cheer, others are broody, while there are
those who are glad it’s just a new day
searching, hungering, looking forward
to their
warm cup of goodness, or an icy cold
treat
day in and out, I see them come and go,
a blur of visions and voices
a depiction of how the world keeps on
going in their own ways but united by
their love for a drink at the start of the
day
